You're invited to Dog Handling Training with Marissa Martino of Paws & Reward. Walking shelter dogs can be hard at times since they are dealing with a lot of stressors in the shelter environment. Join Marissa Martino to learn several positive reinforcement management strategies to support the dogs in our care. During this class, you'll watch Marissa demonstrate these skills and get the opportunity to practice some of them yourself.

A little about Marissa: Marissa owns Paws & Reward Behavior Consulting. She comes working at three different animal shelters in California and Colorado. She is a Certified Dog Behavior Consultant through International Association of Animal Behavior Consultants. She started her career after attending the Academy for Dog Trainers in 2007. Her approach to positive dog training is based on evidence and behavioral science. She uses her Six Connection Priniciples to have you working with the dog and learning together.

This training does not replace dog handling certification to become a dog walker, but is great in addition and an extra bonus. You do not need to be previously dog walker trained to attend.
